This photo is of a bronze "marionette-style" sculpture made by my brother. It is a straight scan from a tray-developed print, and Photoshop was used only to remove dust from the image.
Materials used; Nikon F1-fitted with magnifying "filters", Kodak 400 b/w film, Shop lamps modified with dimming faders, and a sheet of black velvet material.
damn this looks awesome. reminds me of artwork from "Clumsy" by Our Lady Peace, they had this weird doll, too... the perspective is really cool. the b&w really adds to the dark feeling, awesome shot.
Yeah, the angle shot was taken from is just a great idea, so is the sharpness depth... I am not an 'expert' in photography (not even close , but need to show it to my gf who's crazy about the stuff like that.
I think you should use this pic for some texturous didgital piece.
I am amazed anyway.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

Love the shot. The angle from above really makes those creepy socket eyes pop. Great sense of depth too. Killer work!
